EXPERT IN PUBLIC POLICY, EDUCATION RESEARCH JOINS KNOWLEDGE NETWORKS

Mansfield has substantial experience managing studies for Federal agencies; will be based in D.C.

Menlo Park, CA; March 31, 2009: Wendy Mansfield, Ph.D. – a public policy researcher with nearly 20 years' experience – has joined the Knowledge Networks Government and Academic Research team as Vice President, Client Service. Among Dr. Mansfield's credentials are expertise in working closely with Federal agencies in conducting complex statistical surveys, developing procedures for the protection of human subjects, and creating information collection requests for submission to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

Mansfield has led studies conducted on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Bureau of the Census, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the U.S. Information Agency, and others.

Mansfield will be based in Washington, D.C., and will assist Knowledge Networks' government and academic clients at every stage of the research process, from developing proposals to designing and executing studies. She can be reached at wmansfield@knowledgenetworks.com.

Mansfield comes to Knowledge Networks following almost 10 years at Mathematica Policy Research, Inc., where she was Associate Director of the Washington, D.C.-based Survey Research department. She led a group of up to nine researchers and guided a variety of studies. While at Macro International from 1995 to 1999, she developed a series of reports on the "dress rehearsal" of the 2000 Census, and she directed survey operations on a Treasury Department study of the nonbanking public.

During her three years (1989 to 1992) at Westat, Inc., Mansfield managed national studies under the Fast Response Survey System, which was designed to collect issue-oriented data needed quickly by policy planners. She began her career as Technical Consultant in the D.C. office of Price Waterhouse, where she stayed from 1985 to 1987.

Mansfield holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania (Ph.D., Communications) and the University of Virginia (B.A., English).
