NEW CHIEF STATISTICIAN BRINGS EXPERTISE IN SAMPLING, SURVEY METHODS; HAS FOCUSED ON HEALTH, MULTICULTURAL RESEARCH

Appointment affirms KN's commitment to leadership in studying, advancing online research science

Menlo Park, CA; March 28, 2007: Knowledge Networks has hired Charles A. DiSogra – a published and recognized expert in survey research and population issues – as Vice President, Chief Statistician, leading the scientific elements of KN's KnowledgePanel® and the company's substantial research-on-research efforts. DiSogra will also apply his statistical expertise directly to client consultations and projects.

"Charles is joining Knowledge Networks with an impressive background in statistical research for public and private agencies," said Simon Kooyman, CEO, Knowledge Networks. "He shares our deep interest in a rigorous understanding and application of sound methods, and he will be instrumental in our continuing study and application of the science of Internet research. Charles's expertise in the development and administration of research projects and his gift for communicating complex principles in a user-friendly manner also make him a uniquely valuable addition to our team and an asset to clients."

One of the core elements of the KN advantage is the company's nationwide online panel, KnowledgePanel®. Bringing unprecedented reliability and statistical projectability to customer research, KnowledgePanel® is the only online panel that is representative of the entire U.S. population; it is the valid online resource for such crucial tasks as:

  • Estimating true incidence levels
  • Sizing markets and opportunities
  • Obtaining publishable findings for peer-reviewed journals

"I am happy to join Knowledge Networks because of its excellent reputation for using the best information platforms, analytic insight, and rigorous scientific methods. This innovative company has been and remains at the very forefront of discovering and applying the latest scientific and methodological solutions to the challenges facing survey research," said DiSogra. "I look forward to further developing KN's unique and creative resources to achieve the highest level of accuracy and representation available with an online panel. My goal is for KN to deliver a superior degree of precision and confidence that is essential to our clients' scientific findings and executive decision making in the fields of marketing, academic research, and public policy."

DiSogra's strong statistical and methodological leadership – especially in health, multicultural research, and public policy – is apparent in his body of published work and his prior policy-shaping roles. DiSogra comes to KN from the Field Research Corporation, where he was a vice president and senior research director, and where he provided technical, scientific and statistical support for the company's survey research activities in the areas of health and public policy.

An expert in sampling, statistical analysis, research design and administration, DiSogra was previously responsible for California's publicly funded tobacco-related disease research grant program. As that program's director, he oversaw a portfolio of approximately 250 active grants through the University of California Office of the President. He is most widely known for an earlier position as the founding director and senior research scientist for the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) at UCLA's Center for Health Policy Research. CHIS is a biennial, multi-language survey and the largest telephone health survey of its kind in the nation. In 2006, the American Association of Public Opinion Researchers awarded the prestigious Policy Impact Award to CHIS for the survey's overall design and accomplishments since its inception.

DiSogra holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marist College, and both a masters degree and a doctorate in Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley.

Knowledge Networks delivers extraordinary quality and service to guide leaders in business, government and academia – uniquely bringing scientifically valid research to the online space through its probability-based, online KnowledgePanel®.
