

KNOWLEDGE NETWORKS COFOUNDER RECEIVES AAPOR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Among the highest honors in public opinion research; Nie serves as Knowledge Networks Board Member
Menlo Park, CA; May 22, 2006: Norman Nie, a pioneer in the use of the Internet for social research and one of the founders of Knowledge Networks, has won the AAPOR Award for "exceptionally distinguished achievement" in public opinion research. The award was announced and presented to Nie on May 20th at the AAPOR Awards Banquet in Montréal.

Now Research Professor in the Department of Political Science at Stanford University, Nie has made important contributions to the study of social change prompted by information technologies and educational attainment, and to the application of quantitative methods to the study of American politics. He has authored or co-authored many books and articles and has twice won the annual Woodrow Wilson Foundation Award for the best book published in political science.
In 1999, Nie and Douglas Rivers founded Knowledge Networks to bring the accuracy of statistically valid research to the online world.
