Americans 45-Plus More Open to Sex Outside of Marriage, Less Satisfied. The AP (5/7/10) reports, "Americans 45 and older are far more open to sex outside of marriage than they were 10 years ago, but they're engaging in sex less often and with less satisfaction, according to a major new survey." WTOP Radio AM in Washington, DC also covered the survey.

Middle-aged Men Nearly Twice as Likely as Women to Admin Sexual Infidelity: ABC (5/7/10, Marikar) reports, "A new survey conducted by AARP found that middle aged men are nearly twice as likely as women (21 percent vs. 11 percent) to admit to sexual activity outside their relationship."

Twice in April, findings from KnowledgePanel® received coverage in The New York Times.  On April 8th, the article "Prevention: More Health Care Workers Got Flu Shots This Season" mentioned that roughly half of hospital workers received the H1N1 vaccine.  And an April 13th Op Ed ("They Should Know Better") focused on this fact (only half of this group was inoculated).

The Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) awarded two KN client studies first and third place awards in their 2010 Research Case Study competition:

  • First place:  MTV, with their 2009 poll conducted with KN's client, The Associated Press, using KnowledgePanel®:  Crossing the Line: Exposing Millennial Digital Abuse.
  • Third place:  ESPN's Seven Principles of Cross Media Research, addressing the many challenges faced by the media community as consumers adopt new media behaviors -- based on a number of studies including KN's MultiMedia Mentor®, our ESPN All Day Every day study, and the ESPN Sports News tracker. 

Winners were announced at the 2010 CTAM Research & Insights Conference opening night dinner on May 12, then MTV and ESPN presented their findings at the conference, during the May 13 case study general session.
